Contact Lenses for Keratoconus

We specialize in using unique contact lens designs in order to rehabilitate the vision of patients who have lost the ability to see with glasses (spectacle lenses) due to corneal disease such as keratoconus, corneal injury or failed refractive surgery.

When a patient has lost vision due to one of these problems, and they can only see clearly when a contact lens is applied to the eye, that patient is said to need “medically necessary contact lenses.”

The goal of medically necessary contact lenses is to:

  1. Optimally correct your vision.
  2. Maximize the number of hours you can comfortably wear your lenses.
  3. Wear lenses without compromising the health of your eye.

Dr. Garmizo and Dr. Rhue are trained in fitting these special lenses for patients who have lost the ability to function with other types of contacts lenses or glasses. Some of the lenses utilized are:

–        Scleral Lenses

–        Syngergeyes Hybrid lenses (Clearkone, Ultrahealth, KC and Multifocal)

–        Custom Soft Astigmatic

–        Intralimbal

–        Rose K

–        Comfort Cone

–        Reverse Geometry

–        Piggy Back
